I recently got an ipod.  I love the thing.  But I have found a problem that does not seem to have a solution.  I have many songs by a single artist and a single album.  The problem with this is that it causes clutter.  To get to my Depeche Mode music, when I browse by artist I have to scroll though over 80 artists, over three quarters of which are artists who only have one or two songs on my ipod.  I have asked my friends who own ipods and no one has given me an adequate solution.  I find it odd that no one would have noticed what seems to me to be a huge interface design flaw, especially from a company that prides itself on their products thought out design.  The reason I am doing this is because I have talked to other people who are having the same trouble as me.  Here is a list of solutions that I have found to date.

1) Change the ID3 tags -- I read this on a online forum.  The poster said he changed the Album field in his ID3 tags to "80's" and then moved the Album title to the comment field.
you can read the comment for yourself it is comment #6 here.
This is an awful solution; it effectively kills the usefulness of having a Artist Field and Album field.

2)  Limit the Amount of music on your ipod -- Only put full albums that have correct ID3 tags.  This is what I am currently doing, but this is only a temporary solution.
I don't own a 40 gig ipod to only use half of it.

3)  Make a small firmware upgrade -- This is what I feel would be the ideal solution.  Have the ipod only display Artist or Albums that have more than a set amount of songs.  By having the ipod only display Artist that has more than 5 songs, this problem would disappear.  I had a few minutes and created a mock up of what the settings might look like

ipod Settings Menu
Song Display Limit Menu
Song Amount Menu
